From the people that bring you Hack Thursday, Hack Glasgow is an annual community-led hacker conference based in Glasgow, Scotland. Often referred to as Europe's friendliest city, Glasgow is Scotland's home of innovation, culture, science, and technology. Well renowned for their grit and determination, the perceived mindset of Glaswegians is not too dissimilar to that of the hacker community, making it the perfect home for a hacker conference. People Make Glasgow but together, we Hack Glasgow.
Hack Glasgow is a single day event with two parallel speaking tracks, villages, a central and generously-sized sponsor area, and exclusive afterparty for attendees, speakers, crew, and sponsors. In 2025 we welcomed almost 300 participants, watched 16 incredible speakers delivering 15 talks, and hosted a lockpicking village, a book stall, several sponsors, a charity sticker stall, an exclusive "portal cam" live link to BSides Exeter, and much more.
After running the much loved Hack Thursday, the organisation team realised there was appetite in Scotland for a community-led infosec conference at home. Welcoming hackers of all walks, and those just simply curious, Hack Glasgow is a space for all who are interested in information security, privacy, and hacking. With talks ranging in both subject and complexity, villages showcasing fun and interesting activities, sponsors excited to show attendees their products and get feedback - there truly is something for everyone at Hack Glasgow.
"The selection of talks was brilliant, the main area was lively but not cramped, catering was just right, and the choice to keep the focus on the talks rather than cramming in other activities and workshops was something I'd never realise could make such a positive difference. Absolutely brilliant event, cannot congratulate and thank the team enough, and keeping my fingers crossed that they'll be doing it again!"
Having helped organise and volunteered at a multitude of events all over the UK (including Glasgow's informal Hack Thursday meetup), the organising team are well experienced in running infosec conferences.
Many of us are lucky to be in a position to afford a ticket to an infosec conference. We want to do everything we can to give opportunities to those who might not otherwise be able to attend - that's why we implemented our Pay it Forward scheme allowing people to purchase a ticket that can be given to an applicant from our Pay it Forward scheme.
Equality, transparency, and fairness is at the core of who we are both as a community, and who we are as Hack Glasgow. We want everyone to be treated fairly, and have an equal opportunity at attending conferences. That's why we don't do multiple ticket drops, discounts, or free tickets.
As part of our commitment to encourage more individuals to attend conferences like ours who otherwise wouldn't be able to due to financial reasons, we operate a Pay it Forward scheme - allowing generous individuals the ability to purchase ticket to be donated to a Pay it Forward applicant.
If you or someone you know could benefit from a Pay it Forward ticket, these can be applied for here.
Without sponsors, Hack Glasgow simply could not run. We're incredibly thankful to all sponsors from previous years and hope to see them return in successive years. Want to see your company here? Download our most up to date sponsorship pack or send us an email at [email protected]! We'd love to hear how we can help you.
We follow the Berlin Code of Conduct.
If you, or your company are interested in exploring sponsoring opportunities, we'd love to hear from you. Our sponsorship pack contains all relevant information but please don't be afraid to reach out and grab some time with us for a chat - we're always incredibly keen to see how we can make your sponsorship contribution the best it possibly can be. We also accept donations from members of the community via our PayPal.
Yes! The venue (Platform Glasgow) is fully accessible with different entrances (double doors and ramps) and the entire event will be on one single level. If you have accessibility concerns or questions, feel free to reach out to us, or the venue, directly.
Tickets will be on sale on Eventbrite from October until one day before the event. If tickets sell out, the waitlist feature is available to get notified when tickets are released from refunds and cancellations. Please check our Eventbrite page for all ticketing terms, including refunds.
Once the General Admission tickets are gone - they're really gone. We don't do multiple drops, hidden discount codes, mates rates, or let folks in because we want to massage their ego. We want everyone who attends the conference to be on a level playing field and we'd hate to see a student scraping their last pennies together to attend the event, only to find out a CISO was let in for free because they knew us. So, to make things fair for all, and make our budgeting easier - no ticket, no entry.
Speakers and volunteers will be given a full ticket to the day. If you've already purchased a ticket, you can either request a refund, resell it, or give it away.
The Call for Papers (CfP) will open around 6 months prior to the event and close around 3 months prior to the event to give speakers enough time to confirm their acceptance and write their talk.
Unless the speaker themselves have specifically asked for no recordings, all talks will be recorded and we aim to upload them to our YouTube channel within 1 week of the conference date.
Tickets are bought and donated to the Pay It Forward scheme by members of the community to allow those who wouldn't otherwise be able to attend a chance to come along and experience an infosec conference. Applications for the Pay It Forward scheme are assessed by the Hack Glasgow team and close 2 months prior to the event.
A ticket to the event includes refreshments (such as tea, coffee, water, etc), lunch, dinner, and one alcoholic/non-alcoholic drink for the afterparty. Check our social accounts for up-to-date information on food for the event.
All dietary requirements must be sent to us no later than two weeks prior to the event. If you've transferred your ticket to another person, you'll need to get them to fill in the dietary requirements of the ticket on Eventbrite. We're able to cater for most, if not all, dietary requirements, so don't be afraid to reach out if you have questions.
Yes! We want to showcase our brilliant speakers, attendees, sponsors, and crew to you. The only rule we have is to make yourself clearly known as a member of the press when interacting with delegates (wearing your press creds usually covers this). Press passes are available for the event but do not include lunch, dinner, or afterparty access. Contact us for press passes or if you have any questions.
Children are welcome at the event and while we want to encourage the next generation in every possible way please bear in mind some topics may be of an adult nature. Children over 2 years old require their own ticket to be purchased. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied at all times by an adult. The venue has asked for all persons under 18 to have vacated the premises by 9pm to comply with licensing laws.
